Richard “Dirk” Stropp IV

   Richard J. Stropp IV, 61, of Utica, passed away on November 8, 2023. He was born on July 26, 1962, in Rome, N.Y. He was the son of Richard and Sandra Eames Stropp. Dirk was a graduate of Van Nuys High School in California, he then went on to attend Onondaga Community College and Mohawk Valley Community.  His true passion in life was riding motorcycles. Dirk became a professional Motocross Rider who traveled the United States competing in the AMA Pro Motocross Circuit. His favorite time of year was the month of August, when he would race at Unadilla.

   Dirk is survived by his father, Richard Stropp III, of Rome; a daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Brian Paiz of North Syracuse; two brothers and sister-in-law, Eriksen and Kathleen Stropp of Cicero, and Chadik Stropp of Liverpool; two grandsons, Jackson and Jameson Paiz; a niece, Kelly Stropp and nephew, Shane Stropp. Dirk was predeceased by his mother, Sandra Eames Stropp and sister, Kara Kristine Stropp.

   Funeral services are private and there are no calling hours.
