Marilyn H. Schlueter Marilyn H. Schlueter, 72, of Lee, passed away on April 20, 2017, with her loving family at her side following a brief illness. She was born on June 2, 1944 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Alpha Ludwig Hoeh. Marilyn earned a Bachelor of Art degree from Western New Mexico University. On June 4, 1966 Marilyn was united in marriage to Donald Schlueter at Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Marilyn became an accomplished Water Color Artist of Landscapes, whose art work is on display throughout the United States, Asia, Europe and Australia. Marilyn was very active in the Art Community especially at the Rome Art and Community Center, where she served as a board member. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Rome. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Schlueter of Lee; her cherished children, Dana Derrick and husband Paul of Syracuse, N.Y., David Schlueter and wife Melanie of Fort Benning, GA; a sister Sandra Werr and husband David of Shelbyville, MO; two brothers, James Hoeh and wife Diane of Lakeland, FL, Joseph Hoeh and wife Donna of Fruitland, MO; six grandchildren, Truman, Sophia, Alexander and Grant Derrick, Nathan and Lukas Schlueter. Marilyn was predeceased by a twin sister, Carolyn. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 100 Lomond Court Utica, N.Y. 13502-5949, St. John's Lutheran Church 502 Chestnut Street Rome, N.Y. 13440 or the Rome Art & Community Center 308 West Bloomfield Street Rome, N.Y. 13440 Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. at Strong – Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Interment will take place in Union Town, MO.
