Obituary of Bruce John Wells

Bruce J Wells, 78, of Rome passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital. Born in Jersey City, NJ, son of Joseph R Wells and Evelyn Donnenworth Sybel. Bruce was united in marriage to Jane M. Wells December 10, 1955 in Bayonne, NJ. As a Vietnam veteran and a retired Major and pilot from the USAF, Bruce and Jane settled in Rome in 1976. He is survived by his sister Beverly Bazerque of FL, his half-sister Joanne Wells, half-brother Joseph Wells both of Bayonne, NJ; three children Deborah J Wells of Utica, Lynn A Robinson and Bird of Rochester, NY and Richard A Wells and his wife Susan of Boone, NC.; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Jared Wells, Eric and Jonathan Robinson, and Katelyn, Emma and Molly Wells; three great-grandchildren McKenzie, Weston, and Lucca. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of ICU at St. Luke's Hospital with a special thanks to Gerry Love MD and Christopher Max MD for their extra efforts in the care and friendship of our beloved father. A family and friends reception will be held Saturday, September 16 from 2-4 pm at Strong Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Road, Rome, NY. With a brief memorial service immediately following.
