William "Billy" Salmon William F. Salmon, 48, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, with his loving family at his side. He was born on August 31, 1969, in Johnson City, N.Y. He was presently employed at the Family Dollar Distribution Center in Rome. On June 21, 2003, he was united in marriage to Michele Matts, in a ceremony which took place in Chenango Valley, New York. He was an avid N.Y. Jets fan and dedicated husband and father. Billy truly enjoyed working at the family Dollar Distribution Center and considered his coworkers as his second family. He is survived by his parents; William and Elizabeth Salmon of Johnson City, N.Y.; a very special Aunt, Anna Brozovic of Johnson City, N.Y.; his beloved wife Michele Salmon of Rome; two sons, David Gordon of Rome, Shawn Gordon of Endicott, N.Y.; a brother and sister-in-law, Shawn and Diana Salmon, TX; two sisters and brothers -in-law, Elizabeth and Jeffrey Smith of Maine , N.Y., Carolyn and Shawn May of Vestal, N.Y.; three brothers-in-law, William (Debra) Matts, Endicott, N.Y., Robert (Beth) Bryant, North Carolina, David (Charlene) Matts, Washington; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a niece, Ashley Smith; nephew, Michael May; and special canine companion, Buddy. He will be forever in our hearts and our lives will never be the same. Funeral services are private and there are no calling hours.
