Obituary of Carol E. Beck

Carol E. Beck,77, of Taberg, N.Y., passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, at Bethany Gardens. Born in Oneida, NY on July 1, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Charles R. Halliday and Eleanor Kirch. Carol was educated in the Camden school district, following graduation she pursued a career as a Therapy Aide all while keeping up her home and raising her two sons.

Carol was a Therapy Aide and retired after over 25 years at NYS DDSO including many years at the Taberg resident location. Her warm and calm presence made her invaluable to both residents and staff alike; Carol touched many lives in her time working at DDSO. Carol was a loving and supportive mother; her children were her greatest joy aside from her beloved grandchildren. Carol enjoyed spending time with friends and family – any time spent together was never taken for granted.

Carol is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis Deeley and Laurie Murling; grandchildren Cassidy Green, Josh and Kiley Clark; her extended family Stoney and Katie Clark, stepdaughter, Terry (Todd) Cody; stepson, Thomas Deeley; a brother, Charles Halliday ; sisters Susan Beach and Eppy Smith; She was predeceased by her son Douglas Deeley; sister Gail Deeley; Husbands Charles Beck and Melvin Deeley; her parents Charles R. Halliday and Eleanor Kirch.

In keeping with Carol’s wishes, there are no public services. She will be laid to rest next to her son Douglas Deeley at the McConnellsville Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Rd, Rome, NY 13440.
