Obituary of Rebecca Magnanti
Rebecca Ann (Midlam) Magnanti of Rome passed away peacefully in her home on October 14, 2024. She was 69 years old.
Becky was born in Utica on February 14, 1955 - a Valentine baby - to Donald and Eleanor Midlam of Oriskany. She graduated from the Oriskany Central School District, class of 1973. Becky played high school soccer and passed on her enjoyment of sports to her children.
Becky was a wonderful and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She worked at the Central New York Psychiatric Center for several years and was also a home health aide and hairdresser. She was a past member of the Oriskany Fire Department and Floyd Fire Department ladies' auxiliaries and a chaperone for the Floyd Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps. She was an avid fan of Syracuse Orange basketball and loved her dogs Taber, Sparky, Theo, and Leo.
Becky is survived by her husband, James Magnanti of Rome, son Jeremy Ryan of Canastota and daughter Janine (Ryan) Little of Floyd, daughter-in-law Heidi Ryan, son-in-law Benjamin Little, granddaughters Emmarae Little, Lilyanna Little, and Abigail Ryan, and stepgrandsons Nicholas Magnanti, August Magnanti and Rocco Magnanti. She is also survived by her brother Christoper Midlam and sister-in-law Joanne, sister Donna Cieslak and brother-in-law Michael, brother Jeffrey Midlam and sister-in-law Jan, stepson James Magnanti and stepdaughters-in-law Jaime and Alyssa, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and stepson Kevin Magnanti.
Calling hours will be held at the Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home on Merrick Road in Rome from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Floyd Fire Department in Becky's name.
