Mildred Harrington Obituary

Mildred "Millie" Laura (Eames) Harrington, 82, of Rome, NY, passed away on October 3, 2024.

Millie was born and raised in Quincy, MA, to Thomas and Ella Eames on December 14, 1941. Millie met her loving husband, Robert, or as most knew him, Buck, when they worked together in Massachusetts. They would go on to be married in 1962. They welcomed a daughter, Mary Harrington-Combs, in March of 1965. Millie worked, for many years, at the commissary at Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome, while her husband, Buck, was in the Air Force. She would also go on to work, for many years, at the Turning Stone Casino until she retired.

Millie is survived by her daughter, Mary Combs, of Rome; brother, Thomas Eames, Jr., of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Laura Combs and Jason Combs, Jr., of Rome; and her great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Elliot and Grayson. Millie also has several nieces and nephews, Kimberly, Thomas, Kathy, Andy and Karen.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ella; her husband, Robert "Buck"; two sisters, Irene and Mary Eames; and sister-in-law, Maxine Eames.

There will be no calling hours or funeral arrangements, as that is what she wanted. Millie will be buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Lee, alongside her husband.
