Evelyn M. Jaynes

Evelyn M. Jaynes, 71, of Rome, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024, at Rome Health, with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 6, 1952, in New London, CT, a daughter of the late William and Vera (Villani) Bolton.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Donald Jaynes on August 19, 1989 in Rome, N.Y. Prior to her retirement Evelyn was employed by Birnie Bus as a monitor. Evelyn loved to play bingo and crochet.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald of Rome; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sherri Raab of Attica, NY, Donald Jaynes Jr. of Rome; three daughters and son-in-law, Michelle Raab-Crawford of Batavia, NY, Melissa and Mathew Mooney of Rome, and Heather Jaynes of Rome; a sister, Theresa Bolton, FL; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Evelyn was predeceased by two brothers, Samuel Bolton and William Bolton Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 4 P.M. at Strong- Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 2-4 P.M. prior to services.
