Kenneth B. Platt III, 63, passed away unexpectedly on February 29, 2024, at Wynn Hospital.

He was born in Rome on July 9, 1960, a son of the late Kenneth and Marguerite (Moyer) Platt Jr.  Ken worked at Varflex for many years. Ken and his companion Roxane Chapple opened their home and their hearts to many foster children over the years. He was a talented craftsman, loved to hunt, and play his guitar. 

Ken is survived by his companion, Roxane Chapple; their children, Keith Chapple and Amy Chapple; their many foster children including Kayla Eggleston, Christian Eggleston, and Nate French; grandchildren, Colin White, Logan White and Cameron Chapple; his four sisters, Cynthia and Richard Deraway, Debbie Bentley and Donald, Bonnie Platt, and Melody and Dan Deal; brother Daniel Platt; and many nieces and nephews.  Ken was predeceased by his parents, and two sisters Carlene Britten and Penny Vaughn.

All are invited to call Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 4-6pm at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Road, Rome, NY.  Funeral services will follow at 6pm.  He will be buried at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in the Spring.
