Albert R. Jaynes

Albert R. Jaynes, 77, of Rome, passed away on February 28, 2023, at Albany Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born on January 21, 1946, in Rome, N.Y. a son of the late Albert and Eleanor Aldaco Jaynes. Albert was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and in 1964, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. On November 16, 1996, he was united in marriage to Kim Ritskes in a ceremony which took place in Prescott, Ontario. For over 26 years Albert was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation until his retirement. Albert enjoyed golfing and trips to the Oswego and Utica Rome Speedway’s to watch the races.

   He is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberley Jaynes; a son, Brandon Jaynes both of Rome; a mother-in-law, Joyce Ritskes; three brothers, Rex Jaynes, Brian (Tonya) Jaynes, Donald (Evelyn) Jaynes; four sisters, Judy (Ed) Badura, Chikita Gibbons, Bonnie Lundrigan, Alberta (Rob) Butkiewicz; two brothers-in-law, Kevin Page and Randy (Debbie) Ritskes; along with several nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by two sisters,  Nancy Jaynes and Elaine Page; three brothers, Julian “Joe” Jaynes, Stanley  Jaynes Sr. and Paul Jaynes Sr.

   To honor Albert’s wishes, there will be no service or calling hours.
