Obituary of John Wyler Yearby

John W. Yearby passed away peacefully on January 11th, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Yearby, and is survived by his wife, Kristin H. Yearby; mother Dorothy Yearby; sons Kenneth Nelson (Jen) and Robert Nelson (Serena); brothers Patrick Yearby and Richard Yearby; sisters Carolyn Woods and Yolande Taylor; grandchildren Zoe Larson, Lennox Nelson, Ellie Nelson and Marvel Nelson, and a host of nieces and nephews.

John was an avid sports fan, a beloved part of Rome Little League Baseball for 20 years, and a beloved grandfather to 4 grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family and/or Rome Sports Hall of Fame, PO Box 774 Rome, NY 13442. Special thanks to the pastors and staff at HRBC for their care and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 4 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 2-4 P.M. prior to the service.
