Gerry Lou Marilyn Gilbert Stanton, 94, of Rome NY passed away on December 22, 2022. She was born on June 28, 1928 the daughter of Vincent and Marion Gilbert. On June 9, 1951, Gerry Lou was united in marriage with Gerald C. Stanton a blessed union of 48 years until his death on April 5, 1999. In 2002, she married Chauncy “Champ” Farnach.

She was employed by the Kent Company and New York Telephone.

Gerry Lou is survived by a sister, Maryln “Lynn” Inman, a sister-in-law, Jeanne McElhinney, nieces and nephews Mary Catherine Lennon, Joseph (Mary) Stanton, John (Anne) Stanton, Megan (Robert) Harold, Cory McElhinney, Kent (Victoria) McElhinney, Ryan McElhinney, Michael Inman (Jesse), Wendy Inman, Timothy Inman, Terry (Cindy) Inman, Daniel (Alyssa) McElhinney, Michael (Patricia) McElhinney, Mark (Julie) McElhinney, several great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, second husband, Champ, and brothers Charles, Jerome and James, nephew William Lennon and niece Carol Stanton.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peter’s Church, 200 N. James St., Rome, NY.
