Obituary of William M. Tuffey

William M. Tuffey (Bill), 67, of Rome passed away November 18, 2022, at Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Home following a long illness. Bill was the son of the late Donald F. Tuffey and Mary A. (Murray) Tuffey. 

Bill loved his family and time spent with them, especially snowmobiling with his nephew Don and brother-in-law Paul. He followed NASCAR for many years and enjoyed routing for the Earnhardt’s. His true passion in life was driving his corvette along with his co-pilot nephew Don Davies. 

Bill worked for US Airways in Charlotte, N.C. and Pittsburgh, PA until its downsizing. He than came back to Rome and worked for The Turning Stone Casino until early retirement due to his illness. Bill will truly be missed by his family and anyone fortunate enough to get to know him. 

Bill is survived by his two sisters and a brother-in-law; Donna M. and Paul Q. Raulli, Linda A. Davies; nephew Donald R. Davies (Yvette); great nieces Sabrina C. Goodmore (David), Hannah L, Davies; great nephew, Hayden S. Davies; great, great nieces Owynn H. and Harlyn R. Goodmore. 

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Donald F. and Mary A. (Murray) Tuffey; brother-in-law, Samuel R. Davies; great niece Miranda Lin Davies; great-great niece, Piper Goodmore. 

The family would like to thank the 2nd floor staff of Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Home compassion and kindness shown during Bill’s time of need.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Per Bill’s wishes, there are no public services.
