Obituary of Irene C. Humez

Irene C. Humez of Rome, New York, passed away on November 14, 2022, at the age of 103. Always known as "Rene" she was born in London, England on  August 24, 1919. With her parents she moved to New York State where on October 5, 1940, she married the late Albert W. Humez. Mr. Humez, past President of the former Oneida County Savings Bank in Rome, passed away in 2002.

Mrs. Humez was formerly employed by Pettibone Corporation and Myers Lumber Company. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Wednesday Morning Club, participated in the local Republican Party, and was a long time member and golfer at Teugega Country Club.

Mrs. Humez is survived by a sister, Doris McNamara,of California, along with several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by very close friends, Lisa Davis and Donald Davis, who provided attentive care to her for many years. 

Funeral arrangements are being provided by Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home. Pursuant to her personal wishes there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11:00 A.M.
