Obituary of Marlene A. Faroni

Marlene A. Faroni, 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5th, 2022, at Bethany Gardens after a long illness. Marlene was born in Rome, New York on May 06, 1943, daughter of the late James and Doris McLaughlin Coleman. She was educated in the Rome City School District and graduated from RFA in 1961. Marlene was a Senior Security Hospital Treatment Assistant for the CNY Psychiatric Center for 25 years, retiring in 1998.

Marlene was an active member of the Catholic Daughters Group. She was also a member of St. Peter’s Church in Rome. She enjoyed traveling and had many hobbies.

Surviving are two of her children, Jeffrey Faroni of Utica, New York and Tim (Lynne) Faroni of Horseheads, New York; as well as three grandchildren, Sean Reid of Florida and Marissa and Julia Faroni of Horseheads, New York; her four sisters, Elaine Coleman, Nancy (Edward) VanEtten, Mary Coleman, and Colleen (Bob) Hurst; as well as a brother, David Coleman. Marlene was predeceased by her parents James and Doris, a son, Paul Faroni, a sister, Peggy Sizemore, and two brothers, James Coleman, Jr and Patrick Coleman.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, September 09, 2022, at St. Peter’s Church in Rome. Interment took place in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Arrangements by Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome.
