Mary R. Crouse

    Mary R. Crouse 83, of Rome, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on August 21, 1938, a daughter of the late Peter and Ernestine Herrick Reilley. Mary was a graduate of St. Aloysius Academy and member of St. Mary’s Church of Rome. She was employed as a bank teller with NBT bank of Rome prior to her retirement. Mary was formerly united in marriage to Roy Kaufman, she then went on to marry Leon Crouse on May 26, 1984, in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rome. Leon predeceased Mary on March 16, 2010.

   Mary is survived by a son, Roy “Michael” Kaufman and wife Susie; stepchildren, Jill Yerdon, Roxanne Thompson, Tad Yerdon and Tim Crouse; two sisters, Kathleen Hryckewicz and Rosalie Dunn; three brothers and sister-in-law, Paul Reilley, Peter and Rita Reilley, Kevin Reilley; grandchildren, Bailey (Chase) Gonzalez, Ayden (Amy) Kaufman; great grandchildren, Briggs and Rhett. Mary was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, James and Colleen Reilley, and stepson, Leon Jr.

   A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 11 A.M. at St. Peter’s Church of Rome.
