Obituary of Lori G. Losowski

Lori Guelfi Losowski, 57, of Rome passed away after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Born January 8, 1965, in Rome, she was the daughter of Joseph Guelfi and Joan Strong Guelfi. Lori was educated in multiple Florida schools where she started a long career of being an active and contributing member to society. She held many positions in student council throughout her high school career. Following her graduation from Lemon Bay High School she attended Saint Leo College where she successfully pursued her bachelor’s degree in marketing. She made time to enjoy college life, volunteer at numerous events and charities, and pledged to Alpha Sigma where she made many lasting friendships.
Lori had a successful career with AmeriCU where she oversaw business and community development. You could not find a more fitting person to fulfil this role, Lori had such passion and dedication to her community and served it proudly. In her time with AmeriCU she was the recipient of numerous awards and promotions, she was often referred to as “Miss AmeriCU”.
She was a member and former President of the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, President of the Board of Directors of Leadership Mohawk Valley, volunteered with the American Heart Association, Relay for Life, Rome Youth Baseball, Fort Drum USO, Salute to the Troops/Wounded Warrior Project, just to name a few of her cherished accomplishments.
Lori was united in marriage to David Losowski on July 14, 1990, a ceremony which took place at St. Johns Church. Together they shared a wonderful life with their sons Jake and Justin. Lori enjoyed watching her children compete in numerous sports, and was their biggest cheerleader, the memories and friendships made were irreplaceable to her.
Lori is survived by her beloved husband David, who was her rock throughout her illness, her sons Jake (Audrey Farwagi), Syracuse, NY; Justin, Rome, NY; brothers George Guelfi, Englewood, Fl; Joseph (Michelle) Guelfi, CA; sisters, Lisa (Roger) Quick, Rotonda West, Fl; MaryJo (Richard) Fiorini, Rome, NY; Nancy (William) Cingranelli, Rome, NY; Barbara (Ronald) Barber, Rome, NY; brothers in law, Stanley (Amanda) Lososwski Jr. and Joseph (Belinda) Losowski, also many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lori was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Joan Guelfi, in laws, Stanley and Ann Losowski, and a sister-in-law Deborah Guelfi.

Friends and family are invited to call on Friday June 10, 2022, from 4-7 P.M. at Strong Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. A celebration of life will take place at St. John the Baptist Church of Rome, on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 11 A.M. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
