David Warren Secor Sr. David W. Secor Sr. 82, of Rome, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born on October 19,1939, in Rome, N.Y. a son of the late Nelson and Mary Secor. He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and was employed as a Telecommunication Specialist at St. Elizabeth Hospital for over 40 years. David loved playing music. He was a talented pianist, singer, guitarist, and could even occasionally be found playing his accordion. David was a member of many clubs and organizations throughout his life. Recently he served as President of the N.Y. State Fiddlers Association and was member of Mohawk Valley Blue Grass Association, and Black River Fiddlers Association. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles for many years with his friends from the Adirondack Touring Club and Gold Wing Road Riders Association. David was predeceased by brothers, Ronald, Nelson “Bud” and Norman Secor; stepfather, Clarence Carrier. He is survived by his sons, David Secor Jr., Marcy and Derek Secor, Rome; a brother, Jerry Secor, Arizona; two sisters, Susan Tuner, Rome and Robin Stangel, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Glenn Secor and Lydia Houser; along with many nieces, nephews and other family, and countless cherished friends. Funeral services are private and there are no calling hours. Arrangements by Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome.
