Obituary of Marsell Williams Jr.

Marsell J. Williams Marsell J. Williams 77, of Rochester, passed away on March 13, 2022, in Buffalo, N.Y. He was born on December 22, 1944, in Rome, N.Y. a son of the late Marsell Sr. and Josie Williams. He attended Rome public schools and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1963. After graduation he attended Mohawk Valley Community College. Marsell was employed by Rome Cable for a few years and then moved to Rochester, where he accepted a position with Eastman Kodak. He worked for Eastman Kodak for 30 years prior to his retirement. Upon retiring from Kodak, Marsell worked for 10 years at the Rochester International Airport, where he earned the Employee of Excellence Award. Marsell loved life and had many hobbies; traveling, photography, music, cycling, cross country skiing, camping, and hiking. Marsell hiked Yosemite National Park, the Rockies and other locations throughout the country. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara and Karen. Marsell is survived by his sister, Deborah Delerme of Lithia Springs GA, two nieces, Aurelle (John) Bradley and Sarah Delerme of Lithia Springs, GA, a brother, Stan (Libby) Williams and nephew, Alex Williams of San Jose, CA. He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 1 P.M. at Grace Union A.M.E. Church of Rome. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Stokes. Arrangements by Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome.
