Obituary of Joseph Anthony Acquasanta

Joseph A. Acquasanta,52, of Rome, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022. He was born in Little Falls, NY on April 20, 1969, a son of James Bellinger and Victoria Acquasanta -Bellinger. On April 27, 2002, He was married to the love of his life Vanessa Mendoza. Joe was a problem solver and very knowledgeable about many things. He enjoyed taking on difficult tasks at work and at home. In 2005 he received the FAA Bronze Award and received recognition for his unique idea for profit improvement. In 2012 Joe graduated on the President’s List from the MVCC Aviation Technician Program & MT225. He was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa and received his OSHA certificate for control of hazardous energy. Joe was currently employed by LOCKHEED MARTIN of Liverpool, N.Y. In his down time Joe enjoyed heavy metal music, playing pool, cards, fishing, kayaking, and food festivals. He loved vacationing and spending the holidays with his family and friends. Besides marriage the greatest joy of his life was having his son Ryker. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Vanessa; Son, Ryker; stepchildren, Ramika Cassese (Billy Portner), John Cassese (Brooke Findlay), feline companion, Onyxia; Mother Victoria Acquasanta- Bellinger, a large extended family on the Acquasanta and Bellinger sides, and many friends. He was predeceased by his father James Bellinger. All are invited to calling hours from 3-6PM on Friday, February 25th at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome. A Celebration of Life for Joe will follow immediately after calling hours at 6 PM. Joe is forever in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
