Jean A. Smith 96, of Rome, passed away on April 22,2021, at the Sitrin Health Care Center in New Hartford.
She was born on November 2, 1924, in Auburn, N.Y. a daughter of the late Anthony and Sarah Crowe Mieskiel. Jean was united in marriage to Vincent “Bud” Smith on April 12, 1947 in Westmoreland, N.Y. She worked as a waitress at Green Acres Restaurant and the Beeches in Rome. Jean was a member of the Delta United Methodist Church.
Jean is survived by a sister, Evelyn Colbey of PA; three cherished grandchildren, Michael, David and Sara; a great grandchild, Juniper; a daughter-in-law, Eileen Smith; special neighbors, Darlene Hertel and Betty Luzack; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bud; a son, David Smith; a brother and sister-in-law, Al ‘Sony” and Betty Mieskiel.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 1 P.M. at Evergreen Cemetery, Stokes.
