Obituary of "Patty" Hoffman

Helen “Patty” Hoffman, 91, of Rome, passed away on March 27, 2021, at Bethany Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on May 19, 1929, in Watertown, N.Y., a daughter of late Janet Wheeler. Helen was employed by Mercy Hospital in Watertown, N.Y. as a registered nurse, prior to her retirement. She was united in marriage to Leo Hoffman in 1992, in a ceremony which took place in South Carolina. Helen was a member of Zion Episcopal Church of Rome. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and spending time with her pets, especially her dog Angus. Helen is survived by her beloved husband, Leo Hoffman, Rome; two sons and daughter-in-law, David Hughes, and Michael and Alexandria Hughes all of Georgia; a sister, Virginia “Jenny” Brown, South Carolina; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Ken Kiefer. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 10 A.M. at the Zion Episcopal Church of Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery in Lyons Falls, N.Y. Anyone planning to attend services is asked to please wear a face covering and adhere to social distancing regulations.
