Tony B. Coleman 65, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on January 22, 2021, at UCHealth Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. He was born on July 22, 1955, in Sebring Florida, a son of the late Johnnie and Mae Frances Ponder Coleman. Tony was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. He was a talented athlete and enjoyed a wide range of activities. He was united in marriage to MaryJo Houppert on October 8, 1985. He was a patient and loving husband, a wonderful father and grandfather. Tony never met a stranger and was beloved by many and will be truly missed. Tony was employed by St. Francis Nursing Center of Colorado. Tony is survived by his wife, MaryJo Coleman, of Farmington, N.Y.; a son Anthony (Carrie Ralston) Coleman, Macomb, Illinois; two daughters, Trisha Coleman, Rochester, N.Y, and Desiree Coleman, of Rome; a sister, Gloria Purcell (Thomas) and two brothers, John Coleman and Thaddeus Coleman; along with several grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, Frank, Ernest, and Ciero Coleman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 5 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 2-5 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Stokes. Anyone planning to attend services is asked to please wear a face mask and adhere to social distancing requirements.
