Robert G. “Bobby” Crippen, 73, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2020, after battling multipule illnesses, at the Katherine Luther Rehabilitation Home.
Bobby was born on June 19, 1947 to the late Robert W. and Dorothy (Ruley) Crippen. He grew up in Taberg, NY and went to Rome and Camden schools. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to serve our country. He achieved the rank of Lance Corporal and fought in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards with family and friends.
Bobby is survived by his two children, Jacqueline (James) Vienneau of Rome, NY, Robert (Jeannette) Crippen II or Tomball, TX; sisters, Peggy (Gary) Scales, Jane (Chuck) Rowlands, Robyn (Jim) McGilton; brother, Charles Crippen; best friend/ brother, Dale Henderburg; grandchildren, Brittany, Michael, Jimmy, Kourtney; great-granchildren, Paisley Shane, Beckett, M.J.; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by son, David Charles; and sister, Susan Kay.
His children would like to thank their Aunt Jane, Uncle Chuck, and Bobby’s grandson Michael for always being there for him.
Bobby will be missed dearly and never forgotten.
All services for Bobby will be private to the family.
