Obituary of Nicolina A Limner

Nicolina A. Limner, 82, of Rome, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2020, at Bethany Gardens Nursing Home. She was born in Rome, New York on January 29, 1938, a daughter of the late Carlo and Rose Dorio Vescio. Nicolina was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. On November 28, 1975, she was united in marriage to Thomas Limner. Thomas passed away on May 27, 1989. For over 25 years, Nicolina was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base. After retiring from Griffiss A.F.B. Nicolina accepted a position with Kaufmanns Department store in New Hartford. Nicolina enjoyed spending time with family and friends, her true passion in life was playing Bingo. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Keith ( Sharon Farr) Young, Holland Patent, Shawn and Soj Young, Las Vegas, N.V.; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jeff Gier, Connecticut; two sisters, Patricia (David) Hemmes, Rome, Kathryn Cacciatori, Rome; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Nicolina was predeceased by four sisters, JoAnne Carriero, Grace Grago, Bertha Sellnow and Dolores Aiello; and a brother, Peter Vescio. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 9: A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church, Rome. There are no calling hours. Anyone who plans to attend is asked to please wear a face mask and adhere to social distancing regulations. Interment will take place in St. John Cemetery. Arrangements by Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome.
