Grace E. Tripp Koziarz went to be with the Lord on Friday February 7, 2020. She was born August 28, 1932; the youngest of seven children to Harvey and Clara Anderegg Tripp. She grew up on the family farm, her beloved homestead on Quaker Hill in Westernville. She attended a one room school house with her sisters and later attended Holland Patent Central School; she graduated as valedictorian in 1950. In 1953 she graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of nursing. She was employed at the Rose Hospital, Oneida County Home in Rome and Broad acres in Deerfield, retiring in 1990. In 1955 she married Chester Koziarz; he passed away in 1986. She is the mother of Walter (Nancy) and Joseph (JB) Koziarz. Grace was the lifelong friend of Patricia Reap; beloved grandmother of Anthony and Andrew Koziarz and Dakota and Christina Reap, as well as, great grandmother to Piper Grace. Grace was predeceased by her parents, brother Raymond, and sisters Elsie Morat, Maria Rapp, Martha Guerra, Clara Richards, and Marion Hinkley. In 1983 Grace suffered the devastating loss of her son J.B. Grace was selfless and kind to all she met. She was a wonderful cook and her soft spoken nature was a gift to all who knew her. She was deeply and dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Calling hours will be held at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Rd. Rome, NY 13440 on Thursday February 13, 2020 3-5 pm. A funeral service will follow, led by her nephew Rev. R Joseph Tripp. Memorial contributions may be made to the Siegenthaler Center 4277 Middle settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413.
