Sarah H. Harding

   Sarah H. Harding, 88, of Rome, went home to be with the Lord on December 3, 2019. She was born on January 6, 1931, in Vienna, Georgia, a daughter of the late James and Mary Lewis Williams. Sarah was a member of the Grace Union A.M.E. Church of Rome, where she served as a Trustee, Usher and member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was united in marriage to Clifton Harding in 1978 in Rome, N.Y.  Clifton passed away in 1987. For over 20 years, Sarah was employed by the Rome Development Center as a Unit Director.

   She is survived by her cherished children, Gregory Darton, Syracuse, Jeffrey (Sharon) Darton, Camillus, Yvonne (R.S.) Richardson, Syracuse; a stepsister, Linda Mathis; 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sarah was predeceased by a sister, Betty Sawyer; two brothers, James “Brother “Williams and Arthur Williams.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Union A.M.E. Church 606 Woodland Ave, Rome N.Y. 13440

   Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 1:00P.M. at Grace Union A.M.E. Church, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 12:00 to 1:P. M. at the church prior to the service. Interment will take place in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery, Stokes. Arrangements by Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome
