Alexandra Lynn Towne

October 20, 2019

Alexandra Towne, 28, of Rome passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her loving family on Sunday. She was born in Rome, NY and was the daughter of Wayne and Lee Towne. She graduated from Rome Free Academy and attended Utica College.

Alex's greatest joy in life was spending time with her entire family, especially her beloved son Quinten. Quinny was Alex's greatest accomplishment. She was a strong advocate for Down Syndrome Awareness and worked relentlessly to improve the life of Quin and those living with Trisomy 21.

Her compassion for others was, and will always be, unmatched. Alex’s final selfless act was the gift of life in the form of research and transplant organ donations with Donate Life America.

Surviving are her son, Quinten; parents, Wayne and Lee; grandparents, Wayne and Marie Towne and Nancy Benedict; sisters, Tami (Andrew) Kierpiec, Alyssa (Christopher) Perron and Holly (John) Duddleston; brothers, Kristopher (Alexis) and Wayne (Danielle) Towne; close friends, Steve and Mary Jo Armstrong; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday 10/24, from 4-7 p.m. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Rd. Rome, NY 13440. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Quin’s Medical & Future Expenses fund. Checks can be made payable to Lee Towne or by visiting www.gofundme.com, Quinten Fisher’s Medical and Future Expenses.
