Obituary of Dorothy E Wells

Dorothy Wells, 91 of Rome, NY passed away on Monday, September 16,2019. On December 29, 1946, she married Edgar Wells, a blessed marriage until his death February 3, 1984. Together they had three children: Susan Kelley, Russell Wells (Jane), Robert Wells (Paula), eight cherished grandchildren: Laura King, Kimberly Myka, Amanda Bevilacqua, Dawn Kelley, Sonja Rentzis, Brian Wells, Chanda Pope, Ashley Kelley and thirteen great grandchildren.

Dorothy, AKA “Gigi” spent many years watching her grandchildren play sports. She would often cheer for “homeruns” at the football games. She was later blessed with the opportunity to watch great grandchildren participate in many activities. She loved her family and would often keep all sides abreast at what was happening in each other’s lives. Her love of animals, especially dogs made her the best dog sitter out there. There was not any weather that would keep her away from a dog walk or feeding. Her genuine positivity was infectious, and she will be greatly missed. Welcome her home Edgar; she has been waiting for years.

   Dorothy’s family wishes to thank the staff at the Terrace at Woodland and Bethany Gardens for the wonderful care they provided to Dorothy.
