Obituary of Sandra Jean Martin

   Sandra “Sandy” J. Martin, of Rome passed away peacefully July 28, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born December 2, 1952 in Saratoga Springs, NY and was a daughter of the late George and Patricia (Whitney) Clark.

   Sandy attended college at Utica School of Commerce where she received her business degree. Sandy went on to work for Oneida County Social Services as a Data Entry Processor until her recent retirement.

   Sandy was a loving mother and "Goofy" grandma. She was a devout member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rome, she volunteered at and attended many of their events.

   Sandy is survived by her two sons and their wives, John and Tammy Martin, Justin and Angela Martin; her boyfriend, Gary Sylvester; her sister, Sharon Tanner; and her beloved granddaughter, Amethyst Martin. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Patricia Clark.

   Sandy’s funeral will take place Saturday, August 3, 2019 10 AM, at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, All are invited to call on Friday, August 2, 2019, from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Townsend Cemetery, Stittville  following the funeral service.
