Obituary of Bonnie Lee Hoffman

Bonnie Lee Hoffman Bonnie Lee Hoffman, 73, of Blossvale, passed away on May 18, 2019, at The Grand Nursing Home in Rome. She was born on August 21, 1945, in Rome, N.Y. a daughter of the late Joseph and Margret Kotary Boardrow. Bonnie was a graduate of the Westmoreland High School Class of 1963. She continued her education at the Utica School of Commerce, earning an Associate's Degree. Bonnie was employed by Oneida Molded Plastics in Oneida N.Y. prior to her retirement. Bonnie was affectionally known as the Hat Lady of Rome, for years she would crochet hats and donate them to the school district, Rescue Mission or to anyone in need of a warm winter hat. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Gary White, Louisiana, Jodie and James Ackerman, North Bay; Four grandchildren, Samantha Albritton, Matthew Schorfheide, Jessica and Franklin Ackerman; five great grandchildren, Lillian Nichols, Reed Boudean, Wyatt Albritton, Kylie Lynn Carey and Levi Carey. Along with a special group of friends from the Rome community. Bonnie was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Michael Reed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rome Historical Society 200 Church Street, Rome N.Y. 13440 or Artistree Studios 308 West Bloomfield Street, Rome N.Y. 13440. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 10:00A.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the funeral Home. "I will be watching from the Gloaming"
