Marlene E. Sharron, 82, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2019, at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 13, 1937, in Boonville, N.Y. a daughter of the late Frederick and Ethel Williams Duvelow. Marlene was employed by the Family Inns of Rome as a cook, until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time in her backyard with her flowers and dog Lucky. She had a green thumb when it came to her blooming rose bushes, not to mention she was a master at jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her loving companion, Lyle Evans, Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Bert and Amy Sharron, Florence; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Paul Schilling, Rome, Michelle and Kevin McGarry, Pompey; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Wood, Brianne (Louie) Manna, Kristy (Michael) Smith, Dustin Sharron, Curtis Sharron, Amber (Zackary) Luhr, Tara McGarry and Matthew McGarry; along with several great grandchildren. Marlene was predeceased by two sisters, Marjorie Duvelow and Betty Dalla; and a brother, Arthur Duvelow.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019, at 7:15 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4-7 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in the spring.
