Obituary of Ethel Mae Kent

Ethel Mae Kent Ethel Mae Kent 96, of Rome, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2019, at Bethany Gardens Nursing Home. She was born on February 28, 1922 in Auburn, Maine, a daughter of the late George and Anna Mae Kelly Owens. Ethel was united in marriage to Walter Kent. Walter passed away in 1991. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church of Rome. Ethel is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Edward Alsheimer, Westernville, Ethel and Donnie Fansler, Cedar Key, FL; two step-sons, Walter Kent Jr. and William and Dorothy Kent, all of Westernville; four grandchildren, Edward Alsheimer, Michael Alsheimer, Michelle Kent Hall and Walter Kent III; four great- grandchildren, Ella Alsheimer, Cash Alsheimer, Lennon Alsheimer and Kasondra Swalgin. Ethel was predeceased by a son, Thomas Houlihan. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Bethany Gardens Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided to Ethel. Funeral services will be held on January 5, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday from 3-6 P.M. Interment will take place in Carmichael Hill Cemetery in the spring.
