Vicki Sterling Washburn

   Vicki Sterling Washburn 82, of Rome and formerly of Lake Wales, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 25, 2023. She was born on June 16, 1941, in Rome, N.Y. a daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret Sterling Goddard. Vicki was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and in July of 1971, was united in marriage to Dale G. Washburn. Dale predeceased Vicki on December 19, 2019. She was formerly employed by Paine Bus Service and the Lee Legion Post 1794. Vicki was a member of the Boonville Elks Lodge, Lee Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Rome V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

   She is survived by four sons and daughter-in-law, Robert (Shelley) Washburn, Lee Center, Brett, John and Gene Orendorff all of North Carolina; two daughters and son-in-law, Cheryl Washburn (Dave Brodock), Rome, Bambi and Bob Steria, South Carolina; a sister, Deborah Goddard, Rome; a sister-in-law, Patricia (Bill) Taylor of Rome; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Vicki was predeceased by a brother, Ralph "Butch" Goddard; two brothers-in-law, Jerry and Buck Washburn.

   Memorial contributions in memory of Vicki may be made to the Lee Legion Post 1974 Scholarship Fund 9025 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Lee Center N.Y. 13363

    A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 12 P.M. at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life following services at 1 P.M. at the Lee Legion 9025 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Lee Center N.Y. 13363
