Deborah J. Buttacavoli Obituary
Deborah J. Buttacavoli, 68, of Rome, passed away July 30, 2026.
She was born in Rome on June 23, 1958, a daughter of Joseph and Victoria (Prosser) Buttacavoli. Deborah worked at Family Dollar and was well-known at Franco’s, where she served the community delicious food with a welcoming smile. She was an outgoing and vivacious woman who lived life to the fullest, placing bets at the casino and dancing whenever she heard music. Laundry wasn’t ever a chore; it was a way to start fresh and create order in a chaotic world. Her family and friends were her focus. She always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Brandy Jaynes and son Brian Jaynes, Jr., both of Rome; grandchildren, Deja Fletcher and Milani House; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Joseph Buttacavoli II of Rome, Julia Buttacavoli of Rome, Vicki and Roger Petrillo of Utica and Christopher and Nancy Buttacavoli of FL; her many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Bethany Golden and two nephews she considered “grandsons” Jaidon Cyrus and furious Spencer; her best friend Maria Norma; and longtime friend Kenneth walker who she could always count on. She was predeceased by her parents and her dog Gidget.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Strong-Burns and Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. All are invited to visitation from Noon to 1pm prior to the services.
