Doris May Snyder

Doris May Snyder , 88, of Rome, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, at Rome Health. She was born on May 5, 1938, in Christian Hill, N.Y. a daughter of the late William and Alice Lent Shephard. She was united in marriage to Charles Nelson Baily until his passing, Doris then went on to marry William Snyder who also predeceased Doris. She enjoyed working on her family farm known as the Shephard Family Farm in Christian Hill, N.Y.

Doris is survived by two sisters; Arlene Shafer and Pauline Griffith; a special nephew, Henry Waters and his son, Joseph; a niece, Debra Hanson along with many other nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by four sisters; Clara Etta Skillen, Rosina Baker, Anita Keefe and Mildred Waters; three brothers, George, Leonard and Floyd Shephard.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. A prayer service will be held at 1 P.M. Interment will take place in Fly Creek Cemetery, Fly Creek, N.Y.
