William T. Drake Obituary
William T. Drake, 76, (Winky) of Point Rock Taberg, NY passed away on June 30, 2026 at Rome Health. Born March 26, 1950, he was the son of Walter Drake and Anna Garno Drake. William was employed as a machinist at ConMed he also did maintenance work at HTC, he had a strong work ethic and always kept busy. A man who believed in love he was married at different times to Ruth,Juanita, Rita, and Roxanne. In 1995 he was united in marriage to Shirley Lyke Drake, together they shared 27 beautiful years until her passing in 2022.. He is survived by his Companion Michelle MCsweeney.
William took pride in his home and loved taking in the views of his land. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and spending time in the woods. He was always up for a game of cards with friends; he also enjoyed playing his numbers and trying his luck with scratch offs. He enjoyed spending time under the hood and enjoyed dabbling in fixing up cars. He was a jack of all trades and always willing to lend a helping hand. Some of His Best days were visiting friends Ralph , Doug and Bruce Douglas
He is survived by his daughters Melissa (Jason) McKenzie, Tessa (William Baker) Drake, Gina (Terry Kelly) Drake, Tonya Drake; stepdaughter Patty Cullop; sons William (Kathryn) Drake Jr. and Wayne Drake; brother Merwin Drake; grandchildren Amanda, Josh, Dillon, Darin, Damian, Terry Jr., Daniel; great grandchildren Emily, Cesar and Bailey. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Drake; his parents; four sisters and four brothers.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday July 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Rd. Rome, NY. A funeral service will follow at 12:00PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Lee.
