Harold E. “Butch” Dukett Jr.

   Harold “Butch” Dukett Jr. 64, of Rome N.Y. passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2026, at Rome Health, following a brief illness. He was born on February 16, 1962, in Rome, N.Y. a son of the late Harold and Joan Lipphardt Dukett Sr. Butch was a self-employed contractor and skilled painter. He worked on many projects in the Rome area. Butch would often put his grandchildren in the car and traverse the city, showing them building projects that he worked on. One of his prized projects was working on the construction of Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home at the corner of Turin and Merrick Roads. Butch loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed camping and going fishing. Butch also enjoyed fellowship with the congregation of the Evangelical Wesleyan Church of New London.

   He is survived by his three beloved daughters and grandchildren; Misty Fedor, Utica, and her children, Austin Lowery and Hailey Fedor; Holly Dukett, Redfield, and her children, Kaleb Parmeter and Lydia Bush; Josie Dukett, Mexico, N.Y. and her children, Liam Roth, Adalynn Kikta, Isabella and Harper Zemotel; a stepson, Nyzijhir Ikema, Rome; two sisters and brother-in-law, Brenda Dukett, Sauquoit, Sandy and Timothy Russell, Taberg;  nieces and nephew, Melissa “Clumsy” Darnell, Cherrie Russell and Eric Russell; a special friend, Shandel Ikema; Butch was predeceased by a brother, Mark Dukett; a nephew, Matthew Russell and brother-in-law, Bill Robinson.

  Butch will be greatly missed by his many friends and extended family.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, from 5 to 7 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, at 2 P.M. at the  Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery,  Camden.
