Lesley R. Moran

  Lesley R. Moran, 80, of Rome, and formerly of Connecticut, peacefully passed away on June 1, 2026, at Rome Health following a brief illness. She was born on February 24, 1946, in Waterbury, Connecticut, daughter of the late Patrick and Julia Bilotta Beland. She was educated in Connecticut schools and was employed by Sharon Hospital in Sharon, Connecticut as the Gift Shop manager. Lesley was formerly employed by the Timex Corporation where they produced timepieces. During her employment with the Timex Corporation, Lesley became President of Local 62 Services Employees International Union. She truly enjoyed negotiating contracts, handling workplace grievances, enforcing labor laws and ensuring safe working conditions for her union members. In her spare time, she enjoyed going antiquing, curling up on the couch with a good novel, or a competitive game of Scrabble with her family.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Julie McCormick and husband William McCormick Jr. of Rome; four cherished grandchildren, William, Bryan, Thomas (Carley) and Matthew, and trusted and dedicated copilot, Leonard Barton.

   Family and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 8 A.M. to 9 A.M. at St. Peter’s Church in Rome. A funeral mass will follow at 9 A.M.
