Charles R. "Chuck" Winchell Jr. Obituary

Charles R. Winchell Jr. "Chuck", of Westmoreland, NY passed away unexpectedly at home on May 18, 2026. Born in Oneida, NY on December 25, 1967, he was the son of Charles R. and Janice (Smith) Winchell Sr. Chuck was employed by Hood as a transporter where he was a valued employee since he was a teenager. He was united in marriage to Jennifer Kierpiec on September 25, 1999, in a ceremony at Holy Family; together they shared lifetime full of laughter and memories.

Chuck had a kind heart and was a genuine soul, he was loyal to his friends and family. His sense of humor was unmatched; he always had the right thing to say at the right time and could always make you laugh with his antics. His ability to crack jokes and make any situation funny will be greatly missed, he truly was a hilarious guy that could make anyone smile. He was always up for a good conversation; he had the gift to gab and a great deal of knowledge on many topics. Typically, these conversations were over a cup of coffee, if you could call it that as his coffee taste included an abundance of cream and sugar.

Chuck took pride in his truck, it was his most prized possession, and he kept it pristine and was always tinkering with it. He kept his property immaculate, always maintaining his home and beautiful lawn; his strong work ethic was evident not only in his time working at Hood but also in the care given to his property and his willingness to lend a helping hand. In any situation Chuck was there to offer assistance. Chuck was proud of his family and enjoyed any time spent with them.

When you think of Chuck, please tell a joke, a funny story, or find a way to make someone smile or laugh, humor was his gift and the best way to remember him.

Chuck is survived by his wife Jennifer Kierpiec Winchell; his daughter Kayla Winchell; his sister Christine Rich; nephews Donnie Rich, Mikey Rich, Hunter Kierpiec, and Kolton Kierpiec; nieces Jennifer Tynon and Candis Kierpiec; brother-in-law Aleck Kierpiec; his in laws Joseph and Phyllis Kierpiec; close friend Austin Todd; his cats Willow and Luna, and his loyal canine companion Bentley; he was predeceased by his parents.
