Bernice Parker, 97, passed away April 10, 2026, at Betsy Ross Nursing Home.

Bernice was born May 7, 1928, daughter of Ramon Hider and Frances (Dickson) McDonald.  She was married to James Henry Parker until his passing in 1986. Bernice was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.  She always put her family first and was happiest when cooking meals for them. 

She is survived by her children, Joyce Fox, David Parker, Janet Cook, Allen Parker, Joe Parker, Lynnette Parker, and Edward Parker; her many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two sons, Billy and Jimmy Mays; two daughters, Annette and Theresa Parker; and her sisters and brothers Elma Joe, Luther Joe, JL and Jewel.

All are invited to call Friday, April 17, 2026, from 11-Noon at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Rd, Rome, NY. Funeral services will follow at Noon.  She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
