James (Jimmy) K. Smith, 55, of Rome, NY passed away Sunday March 22,2026, with his friends and family by his side at Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY following health complications.

James was born in Rome, NY on July 7, 1970, he was the son of Clayton E. Smith Jr. and Carol A. Lodico and stepfather James (Jimmy) Ball.

James had many jobs throughout his life which included working as a firefighter for the Stanwix Heights Fire Department, an EMT, as well as Hawkins and Hurlbut Sanitation Services. He was a Police Officer for The West Virginia Police Department, a DJ at Skate-A-While roller skating rink, a bus driver for Birnie Bus, and a driver for V.I.P Taxi Company.

James enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, going to races, listening to music, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

He is survived by his children James R.M. Smith (Jenna), Kenneth J. Smith, Alisa Seigler (Smith), Maria M. Noonan, MaeJean Hanik, and Michael P. Smith, his brothers Michael (Caroline) Smith, Paul (Mary) Wade, and John (Dawn) Wade. As well as several grandchildren including Aria, Alayah, Addisen, Destiny, AJay, Izzabella, Elizabeth, William, Emerson, Skylynn, Dawson, Haisley, and Selah. As well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was predeceased by his sister Lisa Renee Smith; his mother Carol A. Lodico; grandmother Helen Cassese; and uncle Pasquale (Mickey) Cassese.
