Joseph Perugia, 60, of Syracuse, NY passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2026, at SUNY Upstate. Born on February 15, 1965, in Rome, NY he was a son of Cosimo Perugia and Josephine Sciorilli. Following graduation in 1983, he went on to be security guard at Key Bank in Syracuse, NY where he was a loyal and valued employee for many years.

Joseph enjoyed relaxing and watching movies, he enjoyed most genres and looked forward to upcoming movies and show releases. He was an animal lover and never met a stranger when it came to critters. He was a member of St. Johns Church.

Joseph is survived by his brother Carl (JoAnne) Perugia; his nephews Nicholas, Jason, James, Cosimo, and Antonio; his niece Cassandra; special friends Carl & Terri Butch and Peter Clark. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Ann Siegler.

Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, NY. A memorial  service will follow at 6:00 PM.
