Virginia T. DePerrior (Szalach), Passed away on January 13, 2026, with family by her side. 

Virginia was born in Baldwinsville, NY, on June 18th, 1929, to Frank and Stella (Kulik) Szalach. She was a graduate of the Academy of the Holy Name and longtime resident of Rome, NY. It was there she married Kevin DePerrior on September 14, 1957. 

Virginia worked for Nestles Co. in White Plains, NY before moving to Rome, NY with her husband. She was employed by Beneficial Finance Co. until her retirement. 

Virginia was a member of the Rosary Society, Transfiguration Church and Rome Seniors until she moved to Punta Gorda, FL in 2014. 

Virginia was a loving, generous person that showed kindness and caring to all right up to her passing. She was gifted with a great sense of humor without boundaries. She will be forever missed by all who knew her. We will cherish and share our memories of her. 

She was predeceased by her husband Kevin DePerrior; her son David DePerrior; two sisters Loretta Jankowski and Veronica Smith; her brother Frank Szalach. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Debbie and JR Johns; nieces Jan Conover and Kathy Cunningham; and very good friends Linda Barlow and Cindy Stark. 

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday January 23, 2026, at St. John’s Church at 11:00AM. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s in Rome. Those wishing to donate in her name, please consider the Samaritan’s Purse.
