Ronald C. Blackall

   Ronald C. Blackall 86, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2025, in Syracuse, N.Y. with his loving family at his side. He was born on January 29, 1939, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a son of the late Lowell "Toby" and Beatrice McNabb Blackall.  Ronald was a graduate of Trinity College of Ohio and was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Cummings. In 1962, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force serving his country until 1966. He then accepted a position at Rome Laboratory as a computer programmer until his retirement. Ronald was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Rome and volunteered his time at the Rome Historical Society. His true passion was being a lepidopterist, spending time collecting and studying butterflies.

   He is survived by his children, Linda Kaye Blackall of Rome, Edward and Ann Marie Blackall of Alabama and Mark Blackall of Rome; three cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel and James Blackall. Ronald was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Ann Blackall and brother, Robert Blackall.

   A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 12 P.M. at Trinity United Church of Christ 215 West Court Street, Rome N.Y.
