Carmelo Dainotto 56, of Rome, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 11, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Carmelo was born on April 24, 1969, in Rome, New York. He was the son of Giuseppe and Gina Dainotto. He was a member of St.John the Baptist church. Carmelo was a Finance Manager at One Main Financial, before beginning a successful career as a Car salesman where he would go on to finish out the remainder of his career. Carmelo greatly enjoyed numerous hobbies to fulfill his days including, bowling, pool, golf and he loved spending countless hours at the casino.
Carmelo is survived by his loving mother Francesca Dainotto; his sisters Maria (Richard) Griffo and Eleonora (Michael) Occhipinti, his niece Gina (Zachariah) Kierpiec whom he treated like a sister. Nieces and nephews Concetta (Timothy) Pavlus, Gregorio (Adriana) Griffo , Arlena (Connor) Husman who was also his beloved Goddaughter, Michael Occhipinti III, and Isabella Occhipinti; and his cherished great-nieces and nephews Giuliana, Maria, Peyton, Francesca, Giuseppe, and Giovanni. He will also be deeply missed by his faithful dog, Max.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Giuseppe Antonio Dainotto.
Carmelo’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and light. He taught us that laughter is a gift—and he gave it freely to everyone he met. Our lives are forever brighter for having known him.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday August 17, 2025, from 3:00-6:00 PM at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Rd. Rome, NY. A celebration of life will be held on Monday August 18, 2025, at 11 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church in Rome. Entombment will take place at St. Johns Cemetery at a later date.
