Barbara Ann Medlin

1966 - 2025

Barbara A. Medlin, aged 58, of Rome, NY passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at home with her loving family by her side following a brief illness. 

 Born on October 11, 1966 in Rome, she was the daughter to the late John A. and Roberta (Page) Eaton. Barb attended Rome Schools and was employed with the Turning Stone Casino for over 25 years. After her retirement, Barb felt the need to keep busy and went to work at Cianfrocco’s Subs, a job she truly enjoyed.

On March 31, 1984, Barb was united in marriage to her best friend and the love of her life, Thomas R. Medlin Jr. Together they had five children; Joshua, Thomas III, Justin, Kayla, and Travis. She dedicated her life to her family and would do all she could for them. Barb was a gem of a person who appreciated all that life gave her and would try to help anyone in need. 

Barb was a selfless hard-working woman with remarkable strength and resilience despite her small stature. Her kind, compassionate and caring nature was infectious and the love she had for her family was like none other. She truly appreciated everything life had to offer and always put her family first.  Barb was a best friend, a devoted wife, a loving mother and an amazing grandmother to her grand-children that she loved dearly.   

Barb leaves behind her husband of 41 years, Thomas Jr. Her children, Thomas III (Erin), Justin, Kayla (Keith), and Travis (Drew). Her grandchildren Thomas IV, Bria, Mia, Sophia, Biankha, Briar, and Brekkon. She’s also survived by her mother, Roberta, mother-in-law Mary Ann Medlin, her siblings, Brenda (Charles) Hildenbrandt, Kathy (Gary) Rogers, John P (Liesa) Eaton, and Kenneth Eaton as well as her brother-in-law, Alexander Medlin, sister in laws, Mary Kay (Mark) Lagasse, Paula Come and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Barb will be truly missed by many, but she will never be forgotten.

She is predeceased by her son Joshua, her father John, her father in laws, Thomas Medlin Sr. and John Parsons. 

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses at Rome Health ICU and Hospice for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday August 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Rome, at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
