Joyce Wick Midlam Joyce Wick Midlam, 77, of Rome, passed away on February 10, 2018. She was born on December 28, 1941, in Rome, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Dorothy Mudge Wick. Joyce was a graduate of R.F.A. Class of 1959, she continued her education at SUNY IT, where she earned a Bachelor's degree and a Masters degree. On August 15, 1970, she was united in marriage to Robert Midlam in a ceremony which took pace at the Westernville United Methodist Church. Robert passed away on January 18, 2007. Joyce was previously employed by the Utica School of Commerce , as an Adjunct Professor, she then accepted a position with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company , in their Human Resource Department until her retirement.. She was Past President of the Rome Rotary and was a member of the Magnolia Twigs. Joyce was loved dearly by her family and she will be missed by her family and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the UP State Golisano Children's Hospital, One Children's Circle, Syracuse, N.Y. 13210. The family wishes to thank Dr. Goel and the staff of Hospice, for the wonderful care they provided to Joyce. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the spring, at Westernville Cemetery.
