George M. Davis, 81, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Masonic Care Community, Utica.

He was born the son, of the late James Martin and Ethel Putnam Davis on October 7, 1928 in Utica. George graduated from UFA and continued his education at Mohawk Valley Technical Institute and RIT. He married Lois M. Kinney on June 18, 1949 in Whitesboro. She passed away on August 11, 2000. George was employed, for 30 years, at the Bendix Corporation, Fluid Power Division, retiring in 1985 as a Quality Control Engineer. He was also a member of the Masons-Faxton Oriental Lodge, Forty and Eight, and a life member as well as Past Commander of the American Legion-Post 232. George especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, Lois, in the summer at the family camp in Forestport and the winter in Florida. He was devoted to Lois' life for the past nine years and couldn't wait to be reunited with her in heaven.

George is survived by seven children and their spouses, Regina and Robert Sokal, Yorkville, Thomas and Sandra Davis, Sylvan Beach, Patricia and Donald Hartman, Middleville, George and Kim Davis, West Chester, PA, Charles and Deree Davis, Temple, TX, Dwight and Donna Davis, Utica, and Philip and Irene Davis, Chadwicks; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; relatives and friends. He was predeceased by one great grandson.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 1PM at the Oakwood Cemetery, Chittenango. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 2-5PM at the Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton.
