James E. Vacheresse
James E. Vacheresse, 62, of Rome, passed away on April 30th 2017, with his loving family at his side. He was born on July 16th 1954 a son of the late James L. and Anna Manuele Vacheresse. James was a graduate of RFA class of 1973 and was a member of St. Johns the Baptist Church, Rome. On November 29th 1986 James was united in marriage to Cynthia Mastraccio in St. Johns the Baptist Church, Rome. James employed at Rome Cable and SUNYIT until his retirement. He was a member of the Rome Elks Lodge, Lee Legion, and Stanwix Mens Club. James was an avid hockey player and coach, He played for RFA and was a former goalie for the Copper City Chiefs. For over 30 years James coached several teams for the Rome Youth Hockey Association, the relationships and friendships that he made were everlasting.
He is survived by his loving wife Cynthia, two children Jayme and husband Brett Keating, and son Michael Vacheresse, all of Rome. A cherished grandson, Kellan Resse Keating. Two sisters, Charmiane Linn, of NE, and Patricia Race, Rome. A special canine companion, Emmie. He was predeceased by a brother William Vacheresse.
Funeral service's will be held Thursday May 6th at 11 A.M. at St. Johns the Baptist Church, with Fr. Paul Angelicchio officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Rd. Rome.
